Lunch, interrupted

It’s always just as you’re about to eat…

Being a superstar in Korea has its downsides.

Howdy Stranger

This happened to my friend on the streets of Daejeon.  No idea who the guilty party was – clearly she wasn’t in the mood for fraternising!  A word to the wise: there aren’t many of us here in Korea, be nice to your fellow waeguks!

You are what you eat

When I was swimming in a river one day with my friends, some old Korean men asked us over to their picnic to have a beer with them.  I saw a little turtle in a sack they had in the river and asked in broken Korean if it was theirs.

This brought about smirks and laughter as the men gestured wildly and kept going on about “STAMINA!  STAMINA!” for men.  Evidently they meant stamina in the bedroom department.  Somehow I don’t believe that a turtle can make you ‘go the distance’ but here in the land of insanity, that seems to be its sole purpose.
